Home Groups

Our Home Groups have been going for over two years now. They afford people the opportunity to explore together some of the teachings of the Bible and its relevance to life today, and, perhaps of equal importance, the chance to get to know each other better.

Past topics have included The Lord's Prayer; Hope, Faith, New World; and Faith, Hope and Love. The groups usually number between 12 and 20 people – well attended you could say – and meet in different people's homes. The meetings are usually between 7.30pm and 9.15pm but check the times with the contacts shown below. After tea or coffee and biscuits we listen to a CD or watch a DVD, then we break up into small groups to discuss some of the questions raised and share relevant and pertinent experiences. At the end of the evening we gather together to exchange 'answers' and 'thoughts' from the break-out groups.

Most people reading this will have an opinion on Christian topics, including those mentioned above. If you do, then come and join us in these friendly and informal groups.

We meet in several homes in Drumoak and Durris and for information please contact Doreen Fowlie on 01330 811561 or Ronnie Mitchell on 01330 811900.

Men's Group
The Men’s Group meets infrequently throughout the year, perhaps three or four times a year. In the past we have enjoyed evenings over a couple of pints getting to know each other a little better; a curry night; a meal and bowling (great fun). We finish the year with a hearty Christmas meal in our local, the Irvine Arms; we attract between 25 and 30 to the evening and a good time is invariably had by all.

The group’s heart is of Christian men inviting men of our community, churchgoers or not, to join us occasionally to have an evening together in a completely relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
