Rev Jim Scott will preach on the Scottish Reformation on Sunday 25th July.

What do you know about the Scottish Reformation? You may know that on August 29th there's a celebration of the 450th Anniversary being held in Auchenblae. But what was it about? Why celebrate something which happened 450 years ago?
If you look up your text books – or nowadays simply look up the Scottish Reformation on the internet – you'll know that from before the 15th century people had ideas about “reforming” the way they worshipped God. Famous names such as Martin Luther lead us onto Scottish martyrs including Hamilton and from Auchenblae, George Wishart. But why were men such as these executed? Why were the ideas they expounded so dangerous to the church? Why was the Reformation so important?
If you want to know more, then come along to Durris Church on Sunday 25th July at 10am and hear Rev James Scott preach a sermon on the Scottish Reformation.
